This was a film that I sort of wanted to see but thought it might be lame.  Unfortunately I was right.

The first 15 minutes or so were fun to watch, made me laugh, and kept me interested.  Then it falls apart, too sappy, too slow, too cliche.  Jouaguin Phoenix kept making me think he was doing a bad imitation of Kevin Kline.  Amy Adams was one bright spot but we know early on where her character is headed.

Scarlett Johansson has to be laughing all the way to the bank, getting paid for reading lines. She has a nice voice but sexy? I’ll stay with Siri.

I am not going to spoil the end but what happens with the computer operating systems doesn’t make sense, but this is the future so maybe I’ll change my mind in 2114.

This one gets one cigar from me, but not worth the match to light it.
